Question everything, as well as what already has been questioned.
The Chaos Computer Club – C3L – is a non-profit organization based in Luxembourg.
Objectives
As stated above the Chaos Computer Club protrudes through the fact, that everything and all should be check double in some way.
- Freedom of Communication & Information
Freedom of Communication what implicates freedom of speech and expression are highly supported by the voice of C3L, but verbal assistance is not the only form. Regularly joining and organizing events in different forms are also forms of activism.
- Analyzing Systems
Every system has a design, some are open to the wide public, some are closed. One of our objects is it to find out – no matter what design it is – how it works and what else one is able to do with it.
Whether simple or complex we challenge every device or piece of code. Having a closer and more skeptic look into and may be how to change its initial purpose, is one of the reasons that drives us forward. Security vulnerabilities, personal data or any other violations that will be found, will of course directly be reported to the responsible institutions.
- Education
Education is one of the fundamental cornerstones of a societies entireness. Education alone isn’t all what is needed, because if the philosophical aspect behind it is thought wrong, society won’t improve on a short-term and equality between everyone isn’t guaranteed. Not sharing knowledge and wisdom won’t improve society or help getting people a chance to enhance their-selfs.
A free and open education is important to us in order to support the OpenKnowledge as OpenAcces and contribute to a world in which everyone has the possibility to get a deeper view at the topic he/she is interested in.
- Satisfy curiosity
A child 3 years of age, has a characteristic which is lost in time by most of people: curiosity and not getting tired of asking questions and trying to understand how a certain thing works. Connection to hackers? Well hackers simply never lost this kind of curiosity.
We’re trying to understand how a certain thing works as it works, if there are irregularities, which could possibly be improved and what other purposes this object could serve. Redesigning and creating something unique through setting no boundaries to your mind.
To accomplish such ambitions, one is in a strongly need of an unending curiosity. We’re not just practicing this way of life, but also try to pass it to others and make them understand, especially children and teenagers, but one is never to young or to old to learn something in addition.
